It worked for me, but I had to manually add /desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme .
But gnome-theme-manager still doesn't start. And
gnome-keybinding-properties too.
A strace shows that they block together when processing
/usr/share/themes/* directories :
lstat64("/usr/share/themes/CleanIce-Latest", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755,
st_size=20,
...}) = 0
lstat64("/usr/share/themes/CleanIce-Latest/index.theme", 0xbffff5b8) =
-1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
brk(0x80ab000) = 0x80ab000
getgroups32(0x20, 0x80a9fd8) = 11
geteuid32() = 1000
write(15, "\0\0\0Q", 4) = 4
write(15, "M222 1000 1000 /usr/share/themes"..., 81) = 81
lstat64("/usr/share/themes/CleanIce-Latest", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755,
st_size=20,
...}) = 0
lstat64("/usr/share/themes/CleanIce-Latest/gtk-2.0/gtkrc",
{st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=1710, ...}) = 0
getgroups32(0x20, 0x80a9fd8) = 11
geteuid32() = 1000
write(15, "\0\0\0Y", 4 <unfinished ...>
