The need for gnome-themes was caused by this bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104210 But this is unrelated to the theme manager crashes that have been reported here. Please read previous threads. You might consider visiting http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97883 for meeting fellows in misery. Given the large number of similar complaints here on the list, voting for this bug sound like a good idea (although I don't know yet how this voting stuff works.)
