[Context: Debian mozilla package is now compiled with gtk2. galeon1 does not support gtk2. galeon2 does but has not been officially released as stable. I have suggested that since galeon2 is now quite stable we should put galeon2 into the Debian galeon package (for the Unstable distribution). A similar thing was done for gnome before it was released. Debian galeon package has over 140 bugs which will never get fixed in galeon1 - there are not enough people working on it. Most of these are resolved in galeon2. ]

This does not mean that any bugs are getting fixed. Hopefully someone on the galeon-devel list will be able to clarify this. > A far amount of people still prefer Galeon 1.2.x to galeon-snapshot. > For various reasons: better configurability, "better configurability" tells me nothing so may as well not be there. > image blocking, better tab > handling and better smart bookmarks (especially with regards to > international characters) and far superior session management. Please give further details than "better" and "far superior". In terms of session management, there has been discussion on this recently in the galeon-devel mailing list. I think the conclusion was that nobody really knew what the best thing to do was - your input would probably be welcome. > My idea is to remake the Mozilla 1.3 package compiled for GTK1. I need further opinions on this. My personal opinion is that this should not be done. -- .''`.
