This comment just proves that you haven't tried programming with GConf. Also, I digged up this for you: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gconf-list/2001-August/msg00069.html Read Havoc's reply and understand that GConf is hotter than a freshly brewed pot of tea. If that isn't enough, read the documentation on developer.gnome.org. Try programming with GConf. The only thing bad about GConf is that the XML backend doesn't put newlines in the XML files, making them almost unreadable. Still, that is just a layout issue.
