True type fonts in Mozilla

I figured that this topic was so old, that I 
would not need to bother the list. I tried 
several google searchs on the topic, and followed 
much advice found, but no success.

True Type fonts work in Opera, but not Galeon, 
Netscape, or any other Mozilla based browser. 
What am I missing?!?!?!

Using Debian Woody with the Gnome back-port.
