there was already a thread about that here and also in debian-devel. I personnally package two gnome applets, hardware-monitor and grandr-applet. The first package is already in debian, under the name hardware-monitor. Both gnome-applet-hardware-monitor and hardware-monitor-applet seem too ugly to consider. That said, i renamed grandr-applet to gnome-randr-applet, and altough the package is not yet in debian (depending on X 4.3.0), i find this a fitting name. Both of these choices have been discussed in the above mentioned threads. I think if possible that keeping the gnome-foo-applet would be best, as it clearly says that it is a gnome applet, provided foo is not too long. Maybe foo-gapplet (and foo-kapplet) would also be a solution, i don't know. Friendly, Sven Luther
