If you can get the RMs approval, you can try uploading to testing-proposed-updates. I don't know if it would be possible in this case though, but if it is the only thing stopping gnome 2.2's migration to testing, it could be envisioned, so that work on 2.4 can start. Friendly, Sven Luther
