I'd been looking to use transparent backgrounds in gnome-terminal, and wanted to use white text. The old lighter background was bad for that; also the default "medium-light blue" color for directories in colored ls listings was hard to read. Now I can use white text and all the colored directory output is legible. I like it. My only complaint is it includes a 1MB 1600x1200 picture, and that's it. On machines with lower resolutions, it is downscaled to something visually equivalent to a 1024x768 picture, but is more of a resource hog. It would be nice if it included both and checked what res. you will run at, or something.
