Finally, it has arrived. Assuming this works for other people, simply
running dh_gconf in your debian/rules will find any GConf schemas, add a
gconf2 dep to $(misc:Depends), create a postinst fragment to install the
schemas and a prerm script to uninstall on remove.
I'll be poking Colin Walters about adding this to the gnome module in
CDBS.
