sudo apt-get --purge remove kdebase-libs or something such ? Also, it is perfectly possible to run gnome alongside kde, no problem in that, just choose the gnome session in gdm instead of the kde one ? I don't know kdm, but i believe it has similar functionality. Friendly, Sven Luther
