I suppose most people know that sometimes, some applications take too long to close, when told under GNOME. I often have the case with Evolution. On some slower machines, it always takes too long, and the user is often asked if he wants to kill the application or wait longer. I guess it's gnome-session which does that, but I don't see any way to tell him to wait a little longer before asking.
