Because some people are unable to use mail servers such as Qmail that allow
them to easily use a different email address and folder for each mailing
list, they are unable to use an email program that filters content based on
To: address (or other list-identifying fields in the header), and they are
unable to use procmail to sort out their mail. NB "unable" in this context
usually means "unwilling" or "incapable".

Therefore they want the rest of us to change how things work to accomodate
them.
