Hi, thanks for the suggestions, and the links.  I hadn't found those pages
yet.

I should clarify that I have lots of experience building ghc, and I also
have some limited experience building .deb packages.  My problem was
specifically with building a .deb for ghc.

Just a quick note: I can browse the darcs repo over http, but when I try to
clone it, darcs wants a password.
