Hi Joachim. I'm not having enough time to help with the transition, so I don't want my opinion to sound very strong, but I think it may be a better idea to do the permanent solution now, while we are still in the middle of the transition. the permanent solution, on my view, is to avoid using ghc versions on directory names.
