we already copy some of haskell-devscript’s code to ghc, e.g. dh_haskell_provides. It is not nice, but for now copying code is the way to go – we do not want to put more build dependencies on ghc that make porting the package difficult. In the long run we can consider having ghc depend and build-depend on haskell-devscripts, but let’s do such things separately.
