Version 3.0.4 of the cabal-debian package is now on hackage, along with version 3.70 of the debian package.
This new release of the cabal-debian tool adds a library interface which can generate pretty much any debianization for a cabal package. It also corrects the blurbs used in the default descriptions, as suggested by Joachim, with many other changes. Please send me any questions, feature requests, or complaints. Maintaining backwards compatibility with the old versions of cabal-debian means some cruft is still floating around in there, hopefully that can be ironed out in coming releases.
