As Bastian pointed out in your RFS bug, the Vcs fields should point
to the
Vcs where you intend to maintain the packaging, not the upstream Vcs.
I did ask Bastian as well (on the bug), but as I don't have access to
Debian's git repositories, is it okay to use my own personal repo? I've
been using gbp so it's all in git.
If you would like to maintain it as part of the DHG, you can either apply
to join the DHG group on Salsa, or possibly simpler, you could just create
a pull request adding the packaging to the DHG packages repo[1].
Note that the DHG doesn't use gbp for packaging - it only maintains the
debian directory in a single git repository for all packages, so there
would be a few changes required to your packaging (e.g. switch the VCS to
the DHG repo, change the Maintainer to the DHG and make yourself the
Uploader, etc.). Some additional information about how the DHG works
here[2].
I would be happy to sponsor the upload though if you go this route.
