Thanks for filing this, Charles.

The bug renders both pandoc and pandoc-data unusable - bumping severity
accordingly.

This is a broken way to handle upgrades of pandoc. Please do *not*
simply upgrade pandoc-data without coordination with pandoc!

Including pandoc-data in what is to be ripped out of Debian if not
solved in time. Of course I hope it will not come to that, and will
help to try avoid it, but for starters, pandoc-data should definitely
not migrate to testing.
