No, any of the 2.4.22 kernels should be fine. It's safe to say at this point that I don't know what's going on ;-) > Character Devices (snippet) > [*] Virtual terminal > [*] Support for console on virtual terminal > [*] Support for Lasi/Dino PS2 port > <*> Standard/generic (8250/16550 and compatible UARTs) serial support > [*] Support for console on serial port > [*] serial port on GSC support > [*] HP (GSP/ECI/MP) Remote Management Console support This is all fine (You don't actually need the GSP/ECI/MP option selected, but having it selected does no harm.) > Serial snippet from dmesg: > Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ > SERIAL_PCI enabled > ttyS00 at iomem 0xffd05800 (irq = 90) is a 16550A > ttyS01 at iomem 0xfff83800 (irq = 138) is a 16550A > ttyS02 at iomem 0xffe02800 (irq = 121) is a 16550A Could you send me your whole dmesg? I'm particularly interested in the device listing near the start, but sending the whole thing would be good. Thanks. -- "It's not Hollywood.
