Woody is a bit outdated now (so many changes and mainly progress since 
this) and sarge is near to be release so I trust you could safely 
upgraded to, that's up to you ;)

so I think that you would upgrade your system to 'testing' (aka sarge)
(at least) :)
   

I removed rp-pppoe from the options, now it works. Nice DSL gateway, that 
712/80 ;-)
