yes I looked and talked to Tom Lane about it.  He believes its the 
platform/compile NOT postgresql.  I disagree with 
his opinion as postgresql 7.4.X passes ALL tests.  The float4 test are failing 
and I narrowed it down to the handling 
of infinity and nan on hppa (at least my systems 710 and 735/99).  I was hoping 
someone else can verify the test are 
failing on other hppa hardware running debian or not.
