The c8000 workstation has a ATI graphics card installed, which isn't fully supported by parisc-linux yet. Does it work, if you add this to the kernel options (when booting the kernel with palo): ? video=radeonfb:off The idea is to switch off the graphics driver and fall back to simple text console.
