Is there a german mirror of the alpha site? Otherwise I can not get the packages until you upload them to master, because I pay per minute here. I don't know of a German mirror, but sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk mirrors alpha in the directory /pub/Mirrors/alpha.gnu.org. I just downloaded egcs 1.1.1 from the site in a few seconds. Maybe the connection between Amsterdam and the UK is better than from Bochum, but you could give it a try.
