I agree with this totally. The only reason I ever kept gcc 2.7 around was to build linux-2.0 kernels, but now that i'm using 2.2 i've scrapped it completely. Since we don't (hopefully!) have to deal with a incorrectly-coded kernel, there should be no reason to stick with what is effectively an out-of-date compiler. two cents (give or take), ed.
