There are papers on Mach, pointed at from the GNU web site.  Until you
understand the basics of Mach RPC, ports, tasks, threads, and a little
about pagers, Hurd architecture won't make much sense.

There is also a picture available at
http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/gords-hurd-and-linux.html.  The FSF
and other Hurd developers are not responsible for this page, so don't
get any funny ideas.

I hope to have better architecture diagrams and explanation available
in the future, but they're a start.
