Hi, all! I've placed a new make-cross on alpha.gnu.org:/gnu/hurd/ghhk/make-cross, and it should appear shortly on your nearest mirror.
This release fixes Marcus Brinkmann's most despised problem: producing binaries that are accidentally linked against Linux libraries. My solution is to generate a linker script that prevents GNU ld from searching in the default Linux directories, and use it when cross-compiling for the Hurd. I don't expect to find any new and shocking problems with this script, so let me know if you do. If you don't know what make-cross is, then you probably don't need it. If you're still curious, it's a way to generate a cheap Hurd cross-compiler using your existing Linux/ELF toolchain. If that *still* doesn't make sense, then you *definitely* don't need it. ;) Have fun, -- Gordon Matzigkeit <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> //\ I'm a FIG (http://www.fig.org/) Lovers of freedom, unite! \// I use GNU (http://www.gnu.org/) [Unfortunately, www.fig.org is broken.
