apt is not ported yet, the available version number (1.9!) is a hint to this fact. dpkg --print-architecture is broken by design, as it is not specified in the documentation. Should it be the cpu or the Debian port string? I never got an answer from the dpkg developers. Use dpkg-architecture(1) in all cases were you are tempted to use dpkg --print-architecture or any variant. apt will be fixed by Brent and me. Please hold your breath or browse the apt bug list (search for my name or "archtable"). Thanks, Marcus -- `Rhubarb is no Egyptian god.'
