Hello, today I retried a very simple test which I had done in the past with different versions of gnumach, hurd, tarballs from Markus, ..., but the same results.
In this test, I used the latest gnumach/hurd from the debian ftp server. The test is started by a simple shell command line. It runs some time - depending on your memory and swap size, until the hurd crashs. To reduce the time needed to crash, please reduce main memory and/or swap size. I tried to analyse the problem, but I need some advice to get it solved. Obviously, some program (most probably ext2fs.static) eats all memory. Do you - the other hurd users - get the same results? How can I get on with the analysis of this problem? Regards, Stefan Here is the test and its output. Because the total output is very long, I replaced large parts (without new information) by ... The first line was used to start the test. Please try it. hurd:~# while true; do ls /usr/include >/dev/null; vmstat --terse --no-header; done (pagesize: 4K, size: 29.3M, swap size: 31.8M) 14.3M 5.79M 7.28M 1.92M 38M 0 4.7M 2.2M 94043 14771 95% 31.8M (pagesize: 4K, size: 29.3M, swap size: 31.8M) 14.3M 5.8M 7.28M 1.92M 38.4M 0 4.7M 2.2M 94946 14887 95% 31.8M ...
