According to e2fsprogs RELEASE-NOTES, this option was added in e2fsprogs 1.16. Version 1.15 is the first which makes sparse superblocks by default; if you have 1.14 or earlier, there should be no problem. > What should I do now????? Upgrade e2fsprogs?
