while i agree screen is very nice, it's not very useful when using graphical
applications (which i often do, using Linux' framebuffer).

which brings up another point: will the Hurd's console ever be capable of
doing graphics?  i.e. will i ever be able to draw a pixel on the screen
without having to be suid root somewhere along the line?
