You don't want a configure in CVS because it is generated anyway.
Use:
aclocal
autoconf
Roland, I found it useful to have an "autogen.sh" script in the root
directory which generates the configure script. Some packages need
special options or automake etc, and an autogen.sh removes all doubt about
it. How about that?
