Hi all, I updated my Hurd system and noticed that X system was updated to 4.0.2. It is very excellent in fact.
I am not sure but would like to report few problems. - xserver-common-v3 might be necessary for some users. (In fact I need it ;-) - /etc/X11/X did not exist (or removed?) by default. I manually link it to /usr/bin/X11/XF86_SVGA - /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config did not exist (or removed?) by default. I manually link it to /etc/X11/XF86Config - Should change "allowed_users=console" to "allowed_users=anybody" of /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config (I am not sure 'anybody' is right or not but it works for me). I upgraded X from 3.3.6 to 4.0.2 and used XF86_SVGA as X server. The situation might be different if one uses different X server. Finally, but this is really good for us Japanese, under X 4.0.2 we can use Japanese fonts by default with xfonts-base!!!! Thanks a lot.
