There were a number of libgb-* packages uploaded to alpha.gnu.org and I presume that these were to be incorporated into the CDs rather than the older ones in the official archive. Where there are duplication of packages the newer ones are chosen. Are there any problems with this?
Question. How many files can a directory contain? the pool directory is now at 1000+ and it would be useful to know if this is getting towards the limit. Some (useless?) information. After the incorporation of alpha.gnu and the removal of duplicates the hurd subset archive is 1.5+ gig. With no exclusion list, but with full depencency checking, the Hurd CDs now have ~1 gig of packages. There may be problems in identifying what can be excluded to halve this.
