Such things have happened in the past. I wantto encourage you to exercise patients. We will sort it out. You did not make a mistake by asking back, but you should probably avoid putting emphasize on the delay, and just ask if there is anything particular wrong with the patch. If a fix is ignored because the package is currentyl not actively maintained (maintainer has no time etc), another Debian developer can step up and make a non-maintainer release of the package. You can ask here if somebody is willing to do that for stat. However, 49 days is not soo long in the Debian world, I have bug reports filed over a year ago, without having the benefit of an opinion about it by the maintainer ;) But it is good that you keep track of your patches and what happens to them.
