I don't expect not to be force to reboot :-) I was thinking of something else. It could be possible for example to let the Linux apt-get/dpkg unpack the debs using --root and just run a `dpkg --pending --configure' on the Hurd. It's not a big difference but such things make life easier... I don't know if it's possible actually. The `Download-Only "true"' you added in apt.conf is a good idea. > I use a very similar method.
