That's the error message for the errno value EIEIO (try spelling that out loud...). "To buy the farm" is US military slang for dying, or somthing like that. On the Hurd, buying the farm means that some essential server, like exec or proc, have died and that there's basically no hope to recover except by rebooting the machine.
