It never hurts to ask if you see something unusual. Any unexplained difference between GNU/Linux and GNU/Hurd is by definition unusual :). > it seems we do actualy have a system bug, maybe in ld or in our dynamic linker > (GNU/Linux uses a different one, right?). whereever it is, this bug is > reproduced in the following places (i've hit all them): We certainly have bugs. However, we are using the very same linker. So if indeed something is errorneous with the linker, then we have a problem. However, libsdc++ and problems with weak symbols rather indicate a compiler problem, than a linker problem. Of course it is not possible to guess what happens. > xfree86: see http://people.debian.org/~rmh/xfree86/glxinfo-makefile.diff > (applied) > xft2: bug #185536 > gtkgl2: bug #186760 > libgcrypt: bug #187309 > [...] (and more i forgot and are already "fixed") I think that 185536 (xft2) might be a genuine bug (although I can not check without the X sources), while the others probably are not. g++ should always add libstdc++ automatically for C++ programs. > Marcus, i'm unable to debug this. please could you have it a look and > try to find out the problem?
