I first got into cross-compiling the Debian glibc packages when the filesystem used to randomly eat blocks. I think we've cured it of that habit though.
I don't think we have... The coreutils test suite might still be triggering them, but I don't remeber exactly. Should get my GNU/Hurd system restored and check. :-) Cheers.
