I tried with and without them. Anyway, I understand, those are needed for running X only. Their presense or absense should not affect the virtual consoles, right?
Yes, the symbolic links don't affect virtual consoles. I've re-read your mail and now I see i talked strictly for virtual consoles.
So it looks like this is bug(s) in pc_mouse.
