I've just managed to install GNU/Hurd from a J2 snapshot.
That's rather old ;-) K7 is the latest and greatest CD set (CD1 is enough). From purely user perspective, new stuff is hurd console[1] and probably xfree86[2] which is upgraded to 4.3. There are some patches for drivers, but not for your case.
