Bit embarrassed to ask this question (I normally work on a hand-made Linux system but am not familiar with either Debian or Hurd), but I've burned the four CDs and followed the Cook-book, and when I try to compile anything in the new system (which otherwise seems to be working okay) the error
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find crt1.o comes up. I've scanned the disc and it is not there. Where do I get this file from?
