Hi all, I'm new to this mailing list. I upgraded a Debian Hurd system recently and encountered some problems with apt and dpkg. Each time when I use apt to install/upgrade packages, it always fails after downloading packages and beginning to call dpkg to handle them:
Preconfiguring packages ... Could not exec dpkg! E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (100) But if I mannually execute dpkg to handle the cached packages under /var/cache/apt/archives/, dpkg works properly. And this problem does not exist several weeks before. Related system and packages information follows: GNU hurd 0.3 GNU-Mach 1.3.99/Hurd-0.3 i686-AT386 GNU ii hurd 20071119-1 ii gnumach 2:1.3.99.dfsg.cvs20070809-1 ii dpkg 1.14.16.6 ii dpkg-dev 1.14.16.6 ii apt 0.7.10 ii apt-utils 0.7.10 ii libc0.3 2.7-7 By the way, I have also report it as a bug #466268, but I think it might be better to post it on mailing list. So this post appears. Thanks. -- HZ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
