I ran into this same issue and was never able to figure out how to install, for example, Emacs. (And I got various errors when trying to compile Emacs, so I was hoping the .deb would install; and without Emacs I really couldn't use the system :-)). I am wondering if this is still an open issue. If not, is there anything that a user can do to work around this? I tried various incantations of dpkg to force installation but it always caused more problems, as, if I uninstalled one (of bsdutils or bsdmainutils) large parts of the system seemed always to depend on one or the other. (Sorry I don't remember exact details, but if there was interest I could try the install again and report exactly what I get.) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
