links and links2 work perfectly on Debian GNU/Hurd, i just tried links2 -g and it 
gave worked with http as well as https with no problem, here's an entry from my 
access.log:

10.0.2.15 - - [26/Sep/2008:10:33:26 +0200] "GET /machine HTTP/1.1" 200 3515 "-" 
"Links (2.2; GNU 0.3 i686-AT386; x)"

elinks is a different source than links and links2.
