baseGNU/tarball still has problems. MAKEDEV still has bashisms, passwd still needs Bruno's hack and the network still cannot be configured. netbase is no longer being pulled into the tarball as a dependency.
The good news is that the svn version of debian-cd has been adapted to create Debian GNU/Hurd iso images. However, considerable tuning of the scripts is needed.
