I found something: On the box _not_ having jkoenigs patches ntpdate works fine... (or the problem is libc0.3: 2.13-5-> 2.13-7) To summarize: config.h: same binutils 2.21.52.20110606-2+hurd.1 : same gnumach 2:1.3.99.dfsg.git20110609-1 : same hurd: 20110519-3, 20110519-3~jk1+b1 libc0.3: 2.13-5, 2.13-7~jk3 Running the ntpdate built on the patched libc+hurd on the unpatched one does also work!
