For some reason something apparently has dropped the translator from /proc You can try to reboot in recovery mode, remount / rw by using # fsysopts / --writable and reset the translator by using # settrans /proc /hurd/procfs -c or by just running # dpkg-reconfigure hurd If you don't manage to reboot in recovery mode, you can boot an installer CD, mount your disk and chroot into it.
