Hello, All mirrors should probably have the latest version of the hurd package, 1:0.5.git20140326-1, which fixes the hurd console startup hang.
It means it should be completely safe to upgrade now. Just make sure to install the login package along the upgrade, either by requesting it explicitly, or simply by using dist-upgrade, not just upgrade.
