I guess I am doing something wrong.

Which file should I get in order to boot my PC for installation?

debian-hurd-amd64-20250807.img

- or -

netinst.iso

Can I make a bootable USB key from the netinst.iso?

In the past, I have used mainly two ways to install an OS on my computers:

- Recently: Ubuntu Live USB
- Earlier: boot PC with SystemRescueCD on a USB, then install over the
network (Gentoo, Sabayon)

Thanks,
Shinichi
