Package name: language Copyright: GPL2 Language is a Debian specific software which establishes basic native language environment. This package is an internationalization extension of Debian user-ja package, which I have been developed. The first version will support Japanese and Thai. I am also planning to write German and Spanish support by refering to user-de and user-es packages. Now under development.
This package supplies a script 'language'. A user who want a native language environment will invoke this script. The settings are achieved by modifying user's dot-files. For example, LANG variable, input method, font specification, basic language-related settings for major softwares and so on. You can easily add new language supports to this package. PS: I am waiting for registration as a Debian developer.
